The LUMY Awards were created with a simple premise: that great lighting products deserve more than a participation ribbon.
The LUMYs take a different approach than other programs that name dozens, or even hundreds of winners. This is a true competition, not marketing pay-for-play. Only six winners are named annually — one per category — making a LUMY not just an honor, but a distinction.

Where Visibility Meets Integrity
Each submission is evaluated by an independent panel of lighting design professionals and related experts, representing a cross-section of the industry. The judging process is rigorous, criteria-driven, and entirely separate from editorial influence.
The program is presented by Inside Lighting, the most-read lighting industry news platform in North America. While Inside Lighting administers and promotes the awards, it does not participate in the selection process. The integrity of the results belongs solely to the judges.
