Submitting a product is simple. Our online entry portal will guide you through the process step by step. You’ll upload a range of materials — such as product copy, spec sheets, brochures, slide decks, or other digital content — that help tell the story of your submission. This is your chance to put your best foot forward and highlight what makes your product stand out. Once your materials are uploaded and payment is completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email summarizing your entry.
No physical samples are required. The judging process is conducted entirely online based on the digital materials you submit.
Each submission should include the following:
- Product name and manufacturer
- Short product description
- At least one high-quality image
- Technical specifications or performance data
- Optional: marketing brochures, cut sheets, video links, or a slide deck that helps explain what makes the product notable
Your submission should convey how your product performs, what makes it innovative, and why it deserves recognition. There are no strict formatting requirements — just submit materials that clearly demonstrate your product’s excellence.

Payment is required up front. Once payment is completed, you’ll receive a receipt and email confirmation with full details. If for any reason you decide not to complete your submission — or if you miss the final deadline — your payment will be rolled over as a credit toward the following year’s LUMY Awards.
Uploaded files should be 10 megabytes or smaller. For images, we recommend using landscape orientation with a 3:2 aspect ratio, as this displays best on our website. However, you may upload any shape, style, or format that best showcases your product. Accepted file types include JPEG, PNG, and PDF.
Once your payment is processed, refunds are not available.
Yes. You may update or revise your entry materials at any time before the final submission deadline of October 25th, 2025. After that point, entries will be locked for judging.

Yes. A single product may be entered into multiple categories, provided it meets the criteria for each one. Each submission will be judged independently, and a separate entry fee applies for each category entered.
Yes. We cap submissions at 50 entries per manufacturer. If your company has more than 50 eligible products, we recommend submitting only your most innovative and differentiated offerings.
You may enter a representative model from a product family, but the award will apply specifically to that individual product. For example, if you submit a 1×4 fixture from a family that includes 2×2 and 2×4 versions, the recognition will be awarded solely to the 1×4 model — not the entire product family.
Yes. All submissions must be for commercially available products that are currently shipping or actively accepting orders. Pre-launch or conceptual entries are not eligible for LUMY Awards.
Yes. You must be the brand owner or exclusive selling entity of the product submitted. Entries must come directly from the company that designs, markets, and distributes the product — not from a third-party partner, design firm, or rep agency.
A complete and competitive submission includes both technical specification sheets and high-quality images. Specifications help judges assess performance, compliance, and innovation, while visual assets help convey design, usability, and market relevance.
For the inaugural LUMY Awards, eligible products must have first become commercially available in calendar year 2024 or 2025. Products launched prior to 2024 are not eligible for this year’s competition.
Please do not send physical samples unless explicitly requested by a judge. In rare cases, a judge may reach out to request a hands-on evaluation — but this is strictly optional and not part of the standard submission process.
By submitting images, spec sheets, videos, graphics, or other digital media, you grant the LUMY Awards permission to publish these assets across a range of platforms — including the LUMY Awards website, social media channels, press releases, promotional emails, and other forms of industry-facing content.
If any submitted assets are not owned by your company but are approved for public use with proper attribution, please indicate this clearly during the submission process. We are committed to honoring all usage rights and attribution standards as provided by you.

No. The LUMY Awards does not offer compensation, royalties, or licensing fees for submitted content used in connection with award-related promotion. Participation in the program grants us the right to feature your materials for non-commercial, award-related purposes.
All payments can be made securely through our online payment portal using a major credit or debit card. For purchases exceeding $5,000, credit cards are still encouraged, but you may contact us at lumy@lumyawards.com to arrange an alternative payment method.

The judging panel consists of six distinguished lighting professionals from across the lighting industry. These jurors are selected for their experience, integrity, and deep industry knowledge. The seventh judge is the lighting community itself — represented by an open online voting process, which contributes one-seventh of the total score for each finalist.

Every eligible entry is reviewed and scored by each of the six expert judges. Products are evaluated using a structured rubric that focuses on innovation, performance, design, market relevance, and sustainability.
The judges independently select four finalists per category, based on aggregate scoring and group deliberation.
Once the finalists are announced, online community voting begins. The results of the public vote account for 1/7 of the final score in each category. The combined judging panel and community vote determine the sole winner per category.
No. We do not provide feedback, scoring breakdowns, or commentary on individual entries. However, if your product is selected as a finalist or winner, you will be notified and celebrated through our website and marketing channels.
If your product is selected as a finalist or winner, you will receive a personal email notification from the LUMY Awards team. These announcements are timed in coordination with our public reveal campaigns, and your notification will include next steps, promotional materials, and optional media opportunities. Please make sure the contact email you provide during entry is monitored by someone authorized to respond quickly.
Finalists and winners will receive a digital media kit that includes a high-resolution certificate, LUMY Awards finalist/winner badge, and downloadable marketing assets for social media, email, print, and web use. These materials will be delivered to your registered email address shortly after public announcements are made. If you need additional formats or assistance accessing your assets, our team will be happy to help.
At this time, the LUMY Awards does not host a formal in-person awards ceremony. However, physical trophies and framed certificates will be offered to winners following the official announcement. These can be shipped directly to your company’s headquarters or preferred address. In future years, we may align the awards presentation with major industry trade shows or events.
If your product is selected as a finalist or winner, your accomplishment will be publicized in the following ways:
- Inside Lighting Coverage
- Finalist status will be announced in a headline news story on Inside Lighting in November.
- Category winners will be featured in a dedicated news article at the time of the official winner announcements in December.
- Mainstream Media Exposure
- Finalists and winners will be included in press releases distributed via a major wire service such as PR Newswire or Business Wire, increasing visibility beyond the lighting industry.
- Social Media Promotion
- Accomplishments will be featured across Inside Lighting’s social media platforms and on the official LUMY Awards social channels.
- Amplified by You
- Finalists are encouraged to promote their status to support voting in the Voice of the People poll.
- LUMY will provide pre-designed social media graphics, or you may create and share your own.
- LUMY Website Recognition
- All finalist products will be showcased on the LUMY Awards website for a minimum of 10 months.
- All winners will be permanently honored in the LUMY Awards digital archive — preserving their legacy for years to come.

Start by paying your entry fee via the LUMY Awards payment portal. You’ll have the option to purchase early-bird discounts or multi-entry bundles for added savings.
After payment is processed, you will receive an automated confirmation email containing your official receipt and a link to the LUMY Awards submission portal.
In the portal, you will enter your product details and upload required files, including spec sheets, images, and descriptions. Optional supporting materials like videos and brochures are also welcome.
You may edit or update your submission at any time before the final deadline: October 25, 2025. After that point, entries will be locked for judging.
If you submit payment but later decide to withdraw your entry — or if you never complete the submission — your entry fee will not be refunded, but it will be automatically credited toward a future LUMY Awards event.
